Soldier and Trench Story!!

Over 200 years ago, close to a battlefield, a man in civilian clothes rode past a small group of exhausted battle-weary soldiers.

Those soldiers were digging an important defensive position. Their section leader was shouting orders and threatening them with punishment if work was not completed in an hour.

The man saw that the section leader himself was making no effort to help soldiers.

The man asked the section leader, "Why are you not helping them?"

The section leader replied, "I am in charge. These men will do as I tell them."

Section leader was irritated by the stranger's question, he added, "Help them if you feel so strongly about it."

To the section leader's surprise, at that instant, the stranger dismounted from his horseback and went to the soldiers and helped them until the job was finished.

Before leaving, the stranger congratulated soldiers for completing their work and then approached the section leader.

"You should notify the top command next time your rank prevents you from supporting your men and I will provide a more permanent solution.", said the stranger.

After seeing the stranger up close, the section leader now recognized General Washington and also learned a lesson he had just been taught.

Flash: Your actions are the reflection of your attitude and your personality. You are a mirror of yourself in others. Whatever you want, give. Be the best reflection of yourself. Be nice to yourself and your surroundings/ people/ work to expect others to do the same for you. The most powerful tool that determines a leader's success is his/her ability to empathize. It is the tool that inspires and motivates people to believe and follow someone, to pledge their loyalty and their trust.

Moral: A small gesture of help can change your life forever. Be helpful to people around. Do not turn your backs on those who are in need. Life is more accurately measured by the lives you touch than the things you acquire.

"Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have!!"
