Linking Covid Certificate with Passport

Vaccination certificates have become mandatory to travel abroad. Although, a lot of countries have their local rules on exemptions for vaccinated travellers, but one thing is sure: no vaccination, no international travel.

Hence, if you are traveling out of India to study, for a job, for Tokyo Olympics or for personal reasons, it is important for you to link your passport with your vaccination certificate.

To facilitate this, the government of India has enabled the online option to link your vaccination certificate to your passport.

  1. Go to cowin.gov.in and click on Register/Sign In yourself
  2. Login with your registered mobile number. (You need to enter your registered mobile number and click on Get OTP for login into your account.)
  3. Select "Raise an Issue" and choose the option "Add Passport Details"
  4. Select member from the drop-down arrow (you could have registered multiple members for vaccination via this account. Select the member whose passport needs to be linked with the vaccination certificate).
  5. Enter the passport number of the member.
  6. After submission, you will receive the acknowledgement that your request has been taken.
  7. Go to the Account Details page and click on the "Certificate" button. The new vaccine certificate which is linked to the passport can be downloaded now.

Within a few seconds, you will receive the new certificate and this can facilitate borders when permitted.

Happy international travel
